Currently, the Karma Sewa Mission branch is fundraising for Orphaned Children in third world countries among other worthy charitable projects here in the USA, which gives a sense of fulfillment and helps to increase oneâs good Karma.
There are numerous projects that KAO has participated in since its conception. A few has been extremly successful as such, we would like to make them our annual volunteer events. Amongst these are:
Orphans Drive:
Collection of gently used clothing ranging from infant to young adult in sizes, toys, hygienic and school supplies for orphaned children. This collection will be packed and shipped to facilitate the Christmas Holiday season.
Loaves and Fishes:
This project consistes of preparing and serving food for approximately 100 individuals on a selected date and assigned Loaves and Fishesâ venue within the month of November to accommodate the Thanksgiving Holiday. Adult participants/volunteers will prepare all food items using the facilities of Loaves and Fishes. Children volunteers will serve and assist with clean up. Adult supervision is provided during this activity.
Note: As much as we would like to give back to our West Indian communities, it is imperative that the establishment of profound awareness of contributing, volunteering and participating in charitable activities also extend to our immediate communities.
Karma Academy Organization is in the quest of bringing that awareness to the Youths by building bridges to local, national and international communities. While it is good to remember ROOTS and give back to the West Indies - keep in mind that second and third generations of West Indians were born here in the U.S.A. Giving back extends to ALL communities - -after all, we share one common home - EARTH.
As our Slogan says............... Let the journey begin................... Letâs start by teaching our children that charity begins at home.
